Springfield Area Diving is a fully sanctioned United States Diving Program. The coaches are safety certified by United States Diving. Their experience includes many years of participation in competitive diving as well as coaching at various levels.

The mission of Springfield Area Diving is to provide a high quality, progressive, year-round diving program for divers ranging from entry level to those competing at the national level. The training will provide technical and safety instruction to athletes who are (or wish to be) competitive in the sport of springboard diving.

The program includes divers from all ability levels - from beginners to accomplished veterans. Many of these divers compete in regional diving meets and some are not yet ready for competition. The goal, however, is to advance to a competitive situation. It is important that prospective participants are aware of this goal and realize that commitment and dedication are expected. While keeping short and log term goals in mind, we strive to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable for everyone involved. Diving (much like other individual sports) can be frustrating at times - our aim is to keep it safe, challenging, rewarding, and most of all, fun.

As coaches, our primary goal is to provide safe and effective diving instruction utilizing training techniques which will activate and develop the maximum potential in each diver. As a diving parent, your primary goal is to support your child by taking an interest in their diving and to provide encouragement as they strive to reach their individual best.

bulletOther Program Goals:
bulletTo field a full competitive team at U. S. Diving meets.
bulletTo assist college bound divers in their pursuit of a successful collegiate diving career.
bulletTo promote the sport of diving in the community
bulletTo promote and improve area high school diving.
