If you enjoy your heart pumping at a significantly fast rate, like myself than you will love everything about sky diving. Sky diving is one of the most popular ways to freak your body out. Lets face it, our bodies were not created or meant to jump out of an airplane thousands of feet in the air. Its scary at first. Any one that says they weren’t scared of jumping out of an airplane thousands of feet in the sky, is a flat out liar. It doesn’t matter how much you can bench press or how tough you are, sky diving requires a lot of courage and mental toughness. It’s no wonder Navy Seals are known for sky diving. Those guys are seriously tough.
Believe it or not, I ended up sky diving for the first time by loosing a sports game bet with one of my best friends. I was betting that the Indians would beat the Cubs in game seven of the world series. I was clearly wrong, and two days after the game was ended I had to do some research and find a place where I can sky dive with a professional. It is highly unlikely that you will ever get the chance to sky dive by yourself unless you have performed plenty of partner jumps with professionals. Why would you risk your life? I trust the sky masters to have the ability to bring me down to the ground safely. There is too much risk associated with trying to figure it out by yourself.
It took me a number of days to find the best place to sky dive at, but I finally had the courage to give the facility a call and book a session. Out of all my friends, I was the only one who was suppose to sky dive. No other buddies of mine had the balls to jump out of an airplane thousands of feet in the air. To be honest, sky diving would have been ten times better if I had some of my buddies participate. They were wusses though, we’ll save that for another time. To say I was scared of what was to come, would be an understatement. I had no idea what was going to happen. All this was over a stupid baseball game, that I had no control over.
When it came time to jump on the plane to take me to the sky, I was practically crapping in my pants. I had no past life experience that would come remotely close to preparing me for what I was about to embark on. To be clear, when you first sky dive there really isn’t anything you can do to prepare. There were a tremendous amount of thoughts running through my mind when I was in the plane. As I looked down from the airplanes window, everything got much smaller. I could spot my car in the parking lot, but it was as small as an ant.
When the pilot got us to the right elevation, it was time to jump out. Jumping out was not easy at all. I was attached to the professional sky master the whole time during the experience. It helped having the professional on my hip, but it didn’t relieve the nervousness I had. My stomach was doing back flips when I jumped out of the plane door. I will say, the view of earth’s landscape from a sky dive trip is spectacular. Never in my life had I seen earth’s beautiful curves and angles. It is quite the view, to say the least.
The thrill and nervousness was worth it. The normal nervous body reactions of the sky dive quickly turned into a serious adrenaline pumping. The feeling was crazy. I felt like I was high on some crazy drug, to be honest. If you like getting intense body rushes than sky dive and you will get addicted. It was funny getting involved with sky diving through a bet, but the experience was something I will never forget for the rest of my life. The rush was insane. Since my first jump, I’ve actually gotten involved with more sky diving sessions. Over the course of the past month I’ve gone on more than one jump every weekend. After each jump, the nerves die down and my confidence increases. It’s just like anything else in life, the more experience you have the less stressed or nervous you get. It was worth loosing a sports bet, to have the sky diving thrill run through me.
